Parish Activities

There are some activities that the Parish has each year that have almost become “institutions”

The Mystery Bus Trip
Usually held each February. We leave after the Sunday Church Service and spend the day traveling and visiting places, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. The organisers are the only ones who know where we are going and for a small cost, everyone is assured of a great day out.

St. Philip’s Day Concert
Held on the Saturday night nearest to the 1st. May (St. Philip’s day). Various groups and individuals, mainly from the parish, perform an item. This is usually a very funny, happy night out for all concerned and the evening is rounded out with supper. Following from this the AAW usually do their items to entertain at several rest homes in the area.

Men’s Tea
A chance for the men on the parish roll to get together for a meal and listen to a speaker. Usually held in August or September.

Christmas Get Together
For the older Parishioners, especially, those who live alone, or who have lost a loved one during the year. Combining good food, fellowship, and entertainment with a visit from Father Christmas.

Parish Carol Singing
A couple of weeks before Christmas a group of parishioners and the singing group go round and sing carols for those who don’t get out and about so much these days. Plenty of enthusiasm is the only prerequisite.

In addition to these Parish Activities there are several other groups that use our facilities.
